The Warehouse 13 Job by [archiveofourown.org profile] hannasus (Leverage/Warehouse 13)
Gen; Eliot, Parker, Hardison, Nate, Pete, Myka (bit of Hardison/Parker); casefic/crossover; rated teen; 10507 words
Summary: The Leverage crew crosses paths with a pair of very unusual Secret Service agents, Parker falls under the control of an artifact, and Eliot gets electrocuted. A lot.

Now that I've discovered my love for Warehouse 13 (this show is just so beautifully cracky and the characters are all so loveable <3) I was happy to find this crossover with Leverage. Great characterizations for both teams and a nifty plot to tie them together... loved it!

Avengers/Thor rec:
Cut To Fit by [archiveofourown.org profile] kellifer_fic
Darcy/Clint (bg Steve/Tony, Jane/Thor); rated G; 3211 words
Summary: When Jane moves into the mansion, she takes Darcy with her.
„Do you really need this?“ Captain America is asking her, hefting her ancient television set. „Tony’s got a widescreen in every room, sometimes two.“ Darcy just stares at him because Captain America is carrying her television.

Leverage rec:
you and me, we are meeting for the first time by [livejournal.com profile] sashimitales
Nate/Sophie, romance/humor; PG-13; ficlet&gifset combo
Summary: It's late at night and Nate and Sophie are exceptionally tipsy.

I particularly like the play with format in this one: the gifsets embedded in the story create an interesting mix of word and visual.

I haven't posted about Leverage lately but I'm still very much in love with the show, even more so after the way it ended. And, I found a new writer who really gets Sophie and Nate (and in a fandom this small that kind of thing is a reason to go like \o/). Here's a great episode tag for The Frame Up Job:

heading home by [livejournal.com profile] sashimitales
Summary: This life she has now, she would not trade it for all the art in the world.
Sophie/Nate; episode tag; rated R; 1,688 words

Haven't quite finished today's coloring but there's only so long I can go without posting... *twitch* Besides, I'm almost done.

Leverage fic rec:
Eye Contact by [fanfiction.net profile] kshar
Gen; Sopie, Parker and team; genre: post-ep/con/team; 10460 words
Summary: Set post-The Bank Shot Job. Sophie takes some things to heart. Not all things, of course.

A superb character piece, and a perfect follow-up to TBSJ. I like kshar's writing style a lot. Interestingly it feels like an episode complete with con plot, even though the actual con goes on in the background and we see only glimpses of it.

Catch me if you can by [livejournal.com profile] bandwidth_limit
Sophie&Nate; genre: backstory; 2380 words

Nate chasing Sophie through Europe won't ever get old for me. :)

if ever two were one by [livejournal.com profile] kuhori_rei
Clint/Natasha; Rating: T; team/humor/romance; 5150 words
Summary: Five ways the Avengers found out Clint and Natasha were married, and one way they didn’t. Featuring domesticity, scrambled documents, Tony and Pepper getting their snoop on, and of course some general badassery.

I thought I'm not into marriage tropes, but apparently I love them when they're done in a certain way. I like how the team find out one by one... through these entirely mundane, unspectacular (well, mostly) occasions. Just a pair of master assassins, doing their taxes.

WIP update: The Father's Son Job by [fanfiction.net profile] YeahLev (Leverage) is now complete. Don't miss this one if you like teamy, plotty casefic - one of the best I've found in this fandom.
Summary: Nate goes to Ireland on family business and runs into trouble. Good thing the rest of the gang followed him.

Avengers:
Congratulations on Your Birthday by [archiveofourown.org profile] ashen_key
Gen; Natasha backstory; 3100 words
Summary: Between an ordinary little Russian girl living with her parents and an ex-Soviet assassin-turned-Avenger living in America are thirty-one birthdays, each celebrated (or not) a different way.

Leverage:
The Bad Job by [archiveofourown.org profile] marlowe78
Gen; Rated M for mature/triggery themes; Eliot-centric teamfic with Nate POV; genre: casefic/character study; 29309 words
Warnings (highlight to read): mentions of child pornografie and child abuse; rape (of an adult, non-graphic, chapter in question has trigger warning.)
Summary: Sometimes, bad guys make the best good guys. And sometimes, the path they tread is dirty and wrong. Sometimes, you have to wonder how far you are prepared to go...

This is a gripping, well-plotted casefic that could have been an episode except it goes darker than the show would be willing or able to go, I think. It's an exploration of Eliot's character that they so far haven't done, and I'd been wondering before if they haven't done it yet because it can't easily be done honestly and still be in tune with the general more lighthearted mood of the show. Nate says in the story: The thing is, we all like him. We all try to ignore the big, deadly tiger in the room. But we all know it's a tiger, we just like to pretend it's a tabby.

Five Times Eliot Surprised Quinn by [livejournal.com profile] scout_lover (Leverage)
characters: Quinn and team; Eliot/Quinn; PG-15; 3,533 words
Summary: Eliot’s not at all what Quinn expected

Quinn provides a nice outsider POV of Eliot and his team, and I enjoy the chemistry between the two hitters.

Art Theft for Beginners by [fanfiction.net profile] wontquitmydayjob (Leverage)
Gen; Sophie&Nate; pre-series; heist/friendship/UST; 5025 words
Summary: In the summer of 2002, Sophie Devereaux was on a roll.
“Why do people steal art, Nathan?”
“You tell me.”
She rolled her eyes. “Come on, this is catching criminals 101. Why?”
He shrugged. “Ransom. Or to finance something else- paintings can act like untraceable cash, good for collateral. Or to sell on the black market.”
“Very good. So if you’re going to sell a painting on the black market, how do you let interested parties know it’s available?”
He understood then what she meant. “By stealing it in the most headline-grabbing way possible.”
She smiled. “But mostly, people steal art because it’s ridiculously easy. It’s a wonder there’s anything left to hang in museums.”

tell of a lesson that failed by [archiveofourown.org profile] summerstorm (Leverage)
Maggie/Nate pre-canon; PG-13; 7314 words
Summary: There's no need for her to be out of bed yet. Not for another hour. She runs a hand through her hair, rubs her fingers over her eyes. They feel like craters, the skin underneath soft and inconsistent and sunken. She sips her coffee, which is still scalding hot, and takes a look around the room. It looks the way it's always looked. She's doing what she's always done.
Maybe that's the problem.

I love this story for the subtle and sensitive way it deals with the painful breakup of their marriage from Maggie's POV; one can entirely emphasize with her, and yet the the story isn't about taking sides... there are no bad guys here. The story feels very real.

The Crowley Job by [archiveofourown.org profile] epeeblade (Leverage/SPN)
Gen; PG-13; team; 850 words
Summary: Nate gathers his team together for a briefing in a universe very different from our own.

Fusion fic: the Leverage gang in the world of Supernatural... and the result is pretty cool. I'd wanna read more about this version of the team!

The New York ComicCon Con by [archiveofourown.org profile] epeeblade (Leverage)
Gen; Rated G; Characters: Hardison, Parker, Eliot, OC; casefic; 3728 words
Summary: Hardison, Elliot and Parker steal ComicCon for a young hacker.

Neat casefic in a geeky setting with an impromptu con job, lots of bickering and a well-fitting OC. Great fun.

Summary: Parker gave up on normal human relations a long time ago. But maybe all is not lost.

Written in 2009, so set around season 1 or 2. Oftentimes when I'm reading those older fic it becomes striking how far they've all come (albeit in subtle ways, as it should be :)

Leveraging the Odds by LadyArin (Leverage/Hunger Games)
8108 words; Gen; characters: Nate, Sophie, Eliot, Hardison, Parker

I was sceptical (though naturally intrigued) when I read the premise - the Leverage characters transplanted into the Hunger Games world - but I really like the result. Interesting crossover which makes good use of the specific character traits.

During the last two days I got no work done. Zero. But I went outdoor bouldering yesterday and then I met an English native speaker at a friend's place; it was fun to chat in English again. So I consider that day seized, if not exactly productive. And today... well, I just now mastered the art of frying eggplant slices. Yes: I've achieved that elusive stage between raw and burnt. They were tasty.
But not much to show for my day. It's 11pm... still time to get started on the next page, I guess.
At least I finished another page of sketches on Thursday, and more importantly I'm finally getting a feeling for the book. So I'm making slow but steady progress.
[eta: 23:44 now... yeah, not looking good on the productivity front]

you and I now, we can be alright by [livejournal.com profile] cata_clysmiic (Leverage)
Nate/Sophie; Rating: M; set ~season 3; 3500 words
There were three things Nathan Ford knew about Sophie Devereaux.
The first was that she was the best at what she did.
The second was that her eyes always widened slightly when she was genuinely surprised or shocked or angry, but that this was her only tell, and it happened rarely.
The third was that besides that first and second thing, he knew nothing about her at all.

all that might come to be by [livejournal.com profile] alinaandalion (Leverage)
Gen; Hardison & Nate; Genre: friendship/post-ep for The Nigerian Job; 770 words
Summary: Nate and Hardison make arrangements for setting up the offices and start to establish their future working relationship.

Nice Hardison&Nate moment, before the team become a team. (Though 'nice' is maybe not the best descriptor, seeing as we're talking about Nate Ford...)
