In which Fitz and Simmons join Ward’s and Mike’s ragtag team.

Renegades series on AO3

I'm really happy with how this turned out. :) I asked for prompts and got so many different character suggestions that I thought, why not do an ensemble piece.

(no character hate in comments please.)

Been a while since I posted here... let's see if I remember how it works ;)

I already posted this one, but since I'm between jobs atm, I used the time to fix some older fanart. In this case, I gave Kara Palamas her real face... something that had bugged me to no end.

note: I love Kara Palamas and Grant Ward and will be forever bitter about the way canon treated them. I don't want to discuss it here and I don't want any comments dissing any of the characters in this pic. (aos is the kind of fandom where you need to state this)

The feedback for my inks came back and I got no corrections! Yes! And the inks are already incredibly detailed, which should make coloring that much easier.

While I waited for the fb, I made fanart... plotless fluff, as an antidote to painful canon. Part of my Wardlok verse (Though the puppy looks like a different breed; I wasn't very concerned with continuity. I just want Ward to have a dog really.)

What do you mean the vigilante lifestyle is not the right way to raise a puppy?

Well, here it is: a mock comic cover for my Season Two Wardlok headcanon, based on some intriguing speculation I’ve seen here. (X)

If anyone wants to write a fic based on this pic, please do! (Unless you dislike Grant Ward, should be needless to add.)

I had Monday off so I drew this Ward character study because feelings, sigh. The lineart is marker/ink brush, coloring is colored ink with a layer of pastel on top for the highlights.
I have a couple more sketches as WIP, just the lineart, and I'll probably use them to experiment more because I haven't got that coloring technique down yet. I used to work a bit with pastel crayons in college and found it a lot easier then. Maybe crayon is just tricky in portraits; anyway, I find it super hard to control. I had to do quite a few adjustments in PSP. But I want to start with a dark wash and then add lighter layers; it seems appropriate, thematically.

In other news, today I decided I will (ta-daaa!) buy a new bike. I realized I have been having this one for over ten years, which explains why it's become so crappy and sluggish. I did some quick math: this bike must have about 25,000 km under its tires. All my previous ones have been stolen within two years, so I never had to deal with an ageing bycicle. And I always got to buy the new one with the insurance money from the last one, so technically I haven't spent any money on a bike since 1994 or so.
I'm very much looking forward to this!

Behind the cut, a bunch of little sketches I made for fandom stocking which I haven't posted here yet. (May, Ward, Skye, and one of Natasha) )

Hm, so I'd like to do a fake comic cover for SHIELD. Anyone got prompts? (My favorites to draw are May and Ward, so one or both of them should be in the scene.)

Ming-Na Wen has retweeted that fanart of May and Ward I made. I'm swooning a bit here.
(Which reminds me that I haven't actually posted that art to DW. Third one in this post, I'll link it properly later.)

On to the recs... two Avengers/SHIELD crossovers of a sort
Always a Bad Idea by [archiveofourown.org profile] Frea_O
Gen; Nat, Clint, Coulson; humor; G; 1415 words
Summary: Coulson's pet team builds a robot. Why does nobody realize what a bad idea that is?

Number One Fan by [archiveofourown.org profile] Niobium
Gen; Sitwell, Clint; teen; 739 words
Summary: Clint Barton is a handful. (A coda for the previously recced Number One Crush; I'd read that first if you haven't already.)

And finally, some fanart (Avengers & others) in an interesting retro noir poster style:

This one’s inspired by sqbr’s prompt "Skye watches May beat Ward during a sparring match :)": Ward asks May to wipe the floor with him for a martial arts demonstration for Skye.

Skye's thinking she might be next... ;)

For a prompt from oxoniensis: “I think some sort of daring rescue would be fun, Ward hanging out of a helicopter holding onto Skye and looking either mad or worried for her, while she’s calmly working on her laptop midair.”

Preview:

(I took some liberty with the prompt: Skye’s got a Starkpad or something ‘cause that’s easier to hold in one hand… and Ward’s actually not looking too worried here, because the situation looks pretty much under control, don’t you think? ^^)

Medium: Pencil sketch on acetate matte film, printed onto watercolor paper and colored with watercolors/ecoline

... for a prompt by [personal profile] ratcreature, who wanted “something Jurassic Park like because dinosaurs are always fun, i.e. someone thought reanimating dinosaurs was a brilliant idea and SHIELD has to deal with it getting out of hand.”

next up: some Agents of SHIELD fanart, if all goes well and I can figure out where to go with that scene I’m scribbling. :)

Okay yes, I blatantly mixed movie- and comicverse here... ;)

All right! *rubs hands* Looks like I got time for fanart now so I'm looking for prompts: Agents of SHIELD primarily, since I already have a bunch of older Avengers prompts I can tackle (but if you got something Nat&Clint you'd like to see, I'm always open to that as well). Hawkeye comicverse is also cool.

As for SHIELD, I'm most interested in Skye & Ward. And May. And also May & Coulson together. I don't really do overt romance, kissing, or domestic scenes, but I can bring the UST. Just like to mix in a bit of action, if possible, 'cause that's always fun to draw. :)

fanart rec: The Wire lineup.
Shows almost the complete ensemble; the artist captured the likenesses and personalities really well. That poster would've come in handy when I started watching the show and kept mixing up all the politicians and police upper echelons.

And maybe a bit random but I saw this on youtube and am listening to it right now... Nightwish End of an Era full concert!. Damn, that's a nice sound!

Today I planned to check out the first episode of Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack On Titan), which was recommended to me by my new Japanese exchange partner. Actually I've been curious about it for a while, since I found this image so intriguing. I thought I'd have the ep running in the background while inking some sketches... I ended up with my eyes glued to the screen for five episodes in a row. Little inking was done today. I may be hooked. The plot is exciting and I love the animation, especially in the fight scenes.
Even the opening sequence looks and sounds terrific.

(No spoilers, please! I just spoiled myself for some major development by googling carelessly, dammit.)

Also watched the season opener of Sleepy Hollow with the roommate and we were both quite taken with it. The mix of cop show and mystery is right up my alley. Bit of creepyness, bit of dark humor. Doesn't take itself too seriously. I dig. With my other two shows both on hiatus, it is all very promising. :)
