Complicated Anatomy of a Liar by Selene Antilles (Leverage/House crossover)
gen; PG-13; ensemble x 2; 7,590 words
Summary: When a Mr. Nathan Baker collapses on a Princeton sidewalk, he winds up in the hospital under care of Dr. House. House is less interested in his health, however, than in his family.

I really liked this story. I was hesitant to read it at first because I had no idea how dark this fic was gonna be, but I'm glad I clicked the link; it was quite a gripping read. I've watched only half a dozen episodes of 'House' but the story seems to be very much in tone with that show. The author's got the whole medical mystery plot down pat, and the Leverage crew interacting with House's team makes for interesting character moments.

(okay, yesterday's rec was technically posted today because the weather was so gorgeous (SO gorgeous) that I didn't go back inside until after the sun set entirely. Which, this time of year, is around 11pm... and even then it doesn't get entirely dark. ♥ summer. Anyway, here's today's rec, I just finished reading it:)

In That Sleep of Death by [to be revealed] (Stargate: Atlantis)
gen; PG-13; team; action-adventure, set mid-season 3; 32,500 words
Summary: With the Wraith culling in earnest across the galaxy and mysterious mercenaries attacking defenseless villages, Team Sheppard chases after a possible weapon left behind by the Ancients in an abandoned outpost. They return empty-handed, but increasingly strange behavior causes them to question just exactly what they might have discovered after all.

A well-paced and gripping old-school action-adventure, in which plot and character exploration go hand in hand.
