Watching the Little Birds Fly Kamikaze Missions into the Walls by [archiveofourown.org profile] zvi (Leverage)
gen; Sophie & Parker; 609 words
Summary: It's like breaking into the Met to steal something and realizing that they're displaying a forgery. Set after 2x15 Maltese Falcon Job; Sophie's back and finds things not as she left them.

Short but wow. I want to quote my favorite part but best read yourself.

Yesterday I went on a shopping spree. (Haha, I found a great way to freak people out: I just had to say "I'm meeting a friend to go shoe shopping" and everyone would stare at me like they suspected I'm a pod person.) But it's true, I went shopping for shoes and got these. )
My new Five Fingers shoes - where every toe gets its own place. I can't wait to take them for a spin. I've already walked around in them for a while and they feel very nice indeed; as close as you get to walking barefoot (sweatier, though, alas). Tomorrow, weather permitting, I'm gonna take them for a run and see how that works. I've always done a lot of walking around barefoot which is handy; you gotta roll your feet differently than when wearing regular running shoes, otherwise they can be counterproductive. But when done right, lots of runners swear by running barefoot. I read about it a while back and had been meaning to try it ever since. Actually have been walking barefoot a lot in order to prepare my feet for it; I hadn't even heard of these shoes until [livejournal.com profile] naye posted about them the other day.

And while on the topic of shopping, I ordered me a shiny bouldering mat because I've been more and more tempted to climb places I shouldn't climb without extra protection. Seems like a wise investment.

Ah, what the hell, here's another rec. Too late to get any work done anyway...
Road Trip! by [livejournal.com profile] telaryn (Leverage)
gen; PG; Characters: Nate, Parker, Eliot (by phone); 1833 words
Summary: After a job goes horribly wrong, Nate and Parker end up trapped in a car together, trying to stay off the Italian's radar.
Hilarity ensues.

A really enjoyable fic: Nate and Parker get to bond on an involuntary road trip.
