News is out that SGA got cancelled. I'm with
rheanna27 - ever since I discovered the show last summer, I feel like I arrived late for a really great party. And now the party's apparently about to end and I've just started to get comfortable, with my drink and my food platter and good company. Damn, this sucks. This sucks toads through a straw. I could've had years more of this. *wrings hair* Stupid, stupid timing!
I console myself with the fact that Angel fandom didn't end when the show did - the fandom went on strong for a good while, only started to fizzle after years. We had a few virtual seasons that were almost like watching the show. And since the fic output and sheer quality in SGA have always outshadowed even that in AtS (imho), I'm hoping that once there's no new canon, fandom will pick up the slack and go on even stronger.
Still, it's not the same. No new canon. Okay, some new canon, but a two hour movie instead of a full season? Wah. I guess better than nothing...
But Angel fandom also taught me not to put my hopes in 'save our show' campaigns. If the Save Angel campaign couldn't achieve anything, I don't see how anything can.
