I had a feeling this would be the last season. Sigh. But I guess better to announce it now than keep us all hanging until summer - at least now ME got enough time to think of a proper way to end it all (I think with a shudder of the Quantum Leap finale where they didn't). I just hope that they don't get smg to come back for the finale because they owe their viewers a B/A ending. Or rather, think they owe.

When I heard the news I suddenly realized... only nine more episodes to go? Nine! Sigh.

They mumbled something about possible tv movies next year? Probably too much to hope, but I like the sound of it.

Nine. Sigh.

ETA: There's an online-petition to keep AtS going here: http://www.petitiononline.com/angels6/

I doubt the WBs will let the fans influence their decision this time, but it's worth a shot.

ETA again: And the Save Angel Petition is currently at 9977 votes. No, now it's 9987. Um... wow?

I'm wondering whether the WB believe all the Angel fans will now simply jump onto their now vampire show... if they're counting on that, they might be in for a little surprise... :op

I'm not pissed at the WB - TV is a business and they apparently believe the show's not lucrative enough any longer. I think they need a better understanding of the fannish mindset if they think the diehard fans will just move on to Dark Shadows, but whatever. Their decision.

I'm not even angry that the show's ending now. I'm gonna miss it a lot to have new eps, but I don't think the fandom is going anywhere anytime soon. Star Trek is still around, and Buffy/Angel plays in the same league.

What pisses me off beyond belief are those fen who're popping the champagne corks at the news. If they don't like the direction the show has taken, okay. They think this season obviously sucks (even if they're not watching anymore). Okay. But how does anyone gain satisfaction from the fact that those of us who still enjoy the show don't get to watch it anymore? Misery loves company, or what? That's company I can easily do without.

I think sometime today I moved from denial toward anger.
