Ask No Questions, Hear No Lines by [???]
Gen; Maria Hill, plus Fury, Coulson, Sitwell, ensemble; genre: SHIELD/character study; PG-13; 7517 words
Summary: Maria Hill was recruited into SHIELD by Nick Fury ten years ago. Phil Coulson is remarkably unremarkable and enjoys non-standard coffee mugs. Nick Fury does not actually wrestle bears, to the best of common knowledge. SHIELD agents know everything about each other, and they know absolutely nothing about each other.

I love stories that bring SHIELD to life like this one... seeing the various connections (and lack of connections) between the characters, set to the backdrop of their day-to-day SHIELD work. I like the Maria POV, too.

I'm only three or four hours away from the final brushstroke on a project but it's midnight, rats. I'm so tempted to keep going, but the downside of going to bed at four would be getting up at noon and having only a measly five hours of daylight. I did that yesterday. It's kind of depressing. Resolution for the next six weeks: no getting up later than 10am. (Weird that it's not as bad after the solstice even though technically the nights are still as long... Must be the psychological factor, just knowing that we're on the upswing again.)
