I feel vaguely guilty for not putting my foot where my mouth is and commenting on the cultural appropriation issue. It's not so much that I'm afraid of unwittingly offending people (thought that does play into it) but mostly that my thoughts are scattered and too unstructured and don't make that much sense.

But I have given it a lot of thought these past days. And... I guess I realized that *not* having given it a lot of thought before now - that's the kind of luxury I have, and never quite realized having. This has been very revealing. I can only say that I'll try to be more aware, when it comes to my own work as well.
