So, I got the whole extended weekend off, unplanned and rather unwelcome since I just got into the flow of drawing and would have liked to continue. Public holidays always hit when you're waiting to hear back from your editor. After twitching nervously for a while I decided to make the best of it and just enjoy it. Today, as required by unwritten law, we went on a first-of-May bike tour, complete with barbeque. It was so great to be outside all day; the weather played nice, too. Even the thousands of other bicyclists didn't get on my nerves.
I still got a whole evening off, maybe I'll start to fool around with the idea of a Bones comic. At the moment my mind draws a complete blank, but heck... the Puppet!Angel comic was born out of a single image. I just had the vision of Puppet!Angel behind Spike on the motorcycle, and it looked so ridiculous I couldn't stop snickering. Yup, the whole script was written around this image, though I think in the end you couldn't tell.
How do you guys do it? Do you base your stories on images? snippets of dialogue? Do you see a rough plot outline in your head that you flesh out? Do you start writing and let the story develop as you write it down? I'm curious.
