Holy smokes, that color is gorgeous! Excellent.
I'm really happy with the color. And it was relatively easy, too. (This is the scene I drew at comic con. Maybe it doesn't hurt to put these things away for a while, give one's subconscious time to come up with a good color scheme.)
JESUS CHRIST.

That's really, really good -- sharp, dynamic; there's a very real sense of danger.

Thanks muchly, so glad you like it and the feeling translates onto the page (or screen). I really like the Wraith as The Enemy; they're pretty damn chilling.
This is great, both color and composition. It it computer-generated color, or by hand? It looks like gouache or watercolor.
It's watercolor and acrylics. Actually if you're interested, I posted a version of the near-complete inkwork in my pevious post here (http://astridv.livejournal.com/90876.html) (just scroll down to the third picture). I usually scan in my inks, clean them up a little on the computer and then print them onto watercolor paper.
Like the idea much : both trapped with Wraiths coming toward them...
Heeee !! ^^
Nice colors !

A not entirely unrealistic scenario, in the Pegasus galaxy. *g*
Happy you like it.

Really gorgeous -- John and Rodney's positions, the tension in their bodies, the way their fingers wrap around their weapons -- it's all just gorgeously done. Thank you very much!
Thank you.
I figured I'draw a few planetscapes that don't look like British Columbia. ;)

Oh, that's pretty frickin' sweet, hon.
Wow, love the detail on the scenery.

Wow, that's awesome. Really gorgeous art and love the landscape and two moons.
Wow, nice! I love the sunset lighting effects you managed to get.
Glad you like. First I tried to get those back light effects through the inks, but I realized I couldn't get it to work that way because it would've doused the whole foreground in black, wiping out all my precious detail. Much better to use color to achieve this effect.
Oooh, that's really lovely. I like the way the coloring of the sky goes with the rocks. It has depth and texture and it makes for a great tense moment-before-the-action scene.
Thanks. When I began coloring, I just put a red wash on the whole page (except on our heroes). Then I painted on top of that with acrylics. Makes for a pretty good effect, and it's a hell of a time-saver. I love time-saving techniques.
Love the colors in this. Great work.
Thanks muchly. I'm quite pleased with the way the coloring turned out.
Very cool. I love the colours and the boys' poses.
Thanks for sharing! :)

My pleasure :o)

Oh wow, I love the colors in both of them, but my favorite is the first. I can't stop staring at the water. Oh my god, I just noticed the little big-eyed alien lizard on the far side of the tree. And, and *dies* those are EYES peeking out of the swamp. I love it!

That's just the reaction I was hoping for. *g*

Ooh, colouring! The first one, it's super-vivid now. Dig it.
Thanks. I'm happy with the result, too. It was fun to color that swamp. Though it took a lot longer than painting the rocks in the second one.
Lovely! I love the bold colors :o)
Oooh, you colored the swamp planet! And it looks all soft and misty! I'm absolutely crazy about your coloring. It looks so textural and real, and your color choices are lovely.
Are you using the acrylics watered down or mixed with clear medium? I'm generally not a huge fan of acrylics but I love the results you're getting here, so I may just have to change my mind.

The acrylics are just watered down. I've never tried the clear medium... wonder what the difference is.
Watered down, the acrylics behave almost like watercolor while still wet. I've started to use acrylics even for the ground layer washes on some occasions, particularly when it comes to brown hues... those seem clearer, less likely to get muddy than those done with watercolor.
I love acrylics; I think they're much easier to handle than gouache. (And I'm not even touching oil color; I'm just not patient enough for those.) I used to think that you can't get good hues with acrylics, but that may have been a problem of the brand I was using. I'm using Schmincke PRIMAcryl and Rembrandt colors now, they're very good.

oh MAN I love these! Rodney's face in the first - all of their legs (I have no idea what about their legs makes me so happy, but it does). And in the second one - Rodney's boot soles! I am . . . incoherently unable to leave a good comment, but WOW!
Man, the boot soles. I'm sufficiently obsessed with these details that I tried to look what their soles look like... but I couldn't find any closeups of their shoes. So I improvised. Then yesterday I watch 'Epiphany' and there's Sheppard, shoving his feet in our face.
Okay, maybe I'm paying too much attention to these things...

Glad to hear. I was giggling myself as I drew it.
gorgeous! I love all the little eyeball aliens in the first picture, and the truly scary looking Wraith in the second. And the Team is great in all of them!
Thanks. I started out just wanting to draw some alien planetscapes, the aliens themselves just... happened.
