Cool game: Name the Countries of Europe. The links for the other continents are under the Europe map.
The roommates and I had a lot of fun playing this game late at night, staying up way longer than planned. We played it with three people and pooled our knowledge, and still didn't get all of them. I would say it's also educational, except I just played the Europe map again and didn't get a higher number than the last time we tried it...
Looks like the DDOS attack on LJ is still ongoing so I'll crosspost later. It seems that DW has been slower than usual, too, I'm guessing due to the added traffic from bereft LJers.

Before this game I didn't even know that there's a country called San Marino.

Definitely educational: I don't think I'll forget the Netherlands again. *sigh*

Heh. I thought "There's a country called San Marino?" and then I remembered that I thought the exact same thing last time I played this game.
I once made a puzzle of all the states of the US that turned out to be really educational (as a side effect). I still remember a good number of them. I guess because it involved all the senses, what with the cutting of the cardboard and the painting of the tiny little states. It was a fun project.

I found that the yearly extravaganza of crackiness that is the Grand Prix d'Eurovision is downright educational. Especially since all the countries are announced in English.
