fanart: SGA

I finished coloring picture #2.
preview:

I simply edited the pic into the previous post, so I'll have the colored fanart all in one place. Follow the link to the large image -->

(I suspect I'm boring the hell out of large parts of my friends list, who're mostly into Bones and Angel... um, sorry? I'm just so happy with my shiny new fandom... ^_^)

On the other hand, those members of your friends list who are totally hooked on Atlantis are enjoying the heck out of the fan art parade! :-)

This one is particularly awesome. I think you've really captured Ronon and Tayla, the murky colors of the swamp are lovely and atmospheric, and the google-eyed creatures are just adorable! I especially like the guy on the tree branch over Tayla's head.

You mentioned in the previous post that you're doing these with watercolors and acrylics, right? You're getting some beautiful effects here--the shimmering water, the loose forest background, and of course the rocky terrain in the other picture. With a few brushstrokes and some rich, well-chosen colors, you create an environment that would soak up an entire episode budget. Behold the power of the artist!

Hee. I wasn't sure people would spot the little critter.

That's just what I love so much about comic art. Not only do we get to be our own director... there're no budget restraints. Plus, we can get any actor we like. :)

Man, I don't even watch SG:A and I think that's awesome! :)

Ah, thanks. :)

Don't apologize--it's your LJ!

I have no clue who these people are, having never watched SGA, but the art is gorgeous.

I know, I know. But I kinda wanna do my best to entertain my friends list, too. But, 's true, I also want to entertain myself... and at the moment the muse is holding a gun to my head, demanding me to draw SGA fanart.

Feel the Atlantis love! I'm not so much into Bones and Angel anymore and I LOVE my shiny fandom. I love your pics, you captured the team nicely I think.

So you're a recent convert too? *G*
I LOVE my shiny fandom.
Me too! The crack, and the crazy creativity, and all the amazing fic and art and vids... ♥ Plus, the characters and the 'verse are fascinating, and I still have almost two seasons' worth of unwatched episodes waiting.

Love the artwork, but they're somehow, I dunno... wrong .

I've got it... they don't look like British Columbia :)

The desert planet is cool (they really ought to take a field trip once in a while for a different feel) but I *really* love the gate in the swamp.

I know!

Those two scenes came out of nowhere. Wonder what I'll draw next. (Well, after that very rl work that's sitting on my desk right now and should take priority...)

Sweet! Aside from the awesome coloring, which Toys already mentioned, I'm really liking the way you're capturing the body language, especially Ronon's slightly stooped walk, because he's so damn BIG compared to everyone else. And all the eyes! Hee.

The eyes were totally serendipitous. (The caption too; it was kindly provided by my roommate, who exclaimed "I'm feeling watched" when she saw the sketch.):)
