fan art - more character sketches

I had a minor case of artist's block. Surefire way to get over that: sketch a few characters. Great warm-up exercise. .
I got other work I should get back to soon, and also page eight of the comic... on the other hand, I still want to draw a sketch of Temperance Brennan kicking some butt. Ah, decisions.

It's not raining non-stop for once, so I'm gonna try my luck and ride into town. Just recently a branch of boesner opened here in town. That's a wholesaler for artist's supplies - it's like Christmas and Birthday in one, I tell you.

Wonderul, as always. I'm especially impressed that Seely and Angel are completely different. You instantly know who is who.

They really are. I think Angel is usually wearing this tiny permanent scowl that I never quite noticed before, that helps define the character.

Well, in TBITL there was an Angel flashback, when Booth was lying in the hospital with his hair all tousled. And of course there're the times when he's threatening some crook with extreme violence. *mind drifts off to happy place*

I adore the Vamp Angel - just perfect. And like a2zmom says, you can instantly see which is Angel/Booth.

Kinda weird, eh.
Turns out Vamp Angel is really easy to draw. Almost Puppet!Angel easy.

Heh, thanks. It's relaxing like you won't believe. I found myself happily humming as I was drawing them.

Beautiful as always. I too am amazed at the Angel/Booth difference!

Thank you for sharing. Wish I could draw, I imagine it can be quite relaxing (when it's working that is,it probably would be a very frustrating activity for me ;))

Oh, yeah, drawing can be very relaxing. And sometimes frustrating. Both.

These character studies are more relaxing than anything, because I can switch off my brain while I do them.

It really is amazing how different Angel is from Booth. When I first watching Bones I was sure Booth and Angel were interchangeable but as time went on David B. really made the two characters as distinct as possible and your sketches prove this quite well

I never cease to be amazed about the difference. Before the show started, I thought there'd be a plethora of crossover stories first thing, but there've been barely a handful - mostly a result of the characters being completely independent of each other, I think.

During the pilot I has a very brief moment when I was thrown off, when he first walks into the interrogation room, and I got over that after a mere minute or two.

You could always draw Temperance kicking the butt of an AK-wielding you-know-what {nudge}{wink}

Oh. You mean, the scene in the [spoiler] with the [spoiler]. Hmm, intriguing! I'd love to tackle that one. Can't guarantee anything though, it depends on how well my regular work goes... but today went well, so I have hope I'll be back on schedule soon.

*frowns*...*realisation hits*...Oh yeah!!!

Would love to see that! I really loved your coverart too! So if you do puhlease share it!

Oh, absolutely... if I get around to doing it, nothing can stop me from sharing. Just have to find a spare hour or two...

Or Booth in his full [spoiler] outfit! *drools*

Hey, thanks! Glad you like. I have done some more of these quick sketches... just click on the tag 'fan_art', they should all be listed there.
