Bones recs: main list. Plus, LoTR fan comic link

I finished that complete list of Bones fic recs. All my Bones recs in one post, should be much easier to navigate now. I did some editing, but mostly I just copy-pasted the old recs together and sorted them a little.

***Linkeage: fanthropology recently hosted a quite interesting discussion about fan-comics. In the comments, I found this very funny LOTR comic by Kasiopea - cartoons about the misadventures of little Boromir (that don't try to hide their Calvin & Hobbes influence). The artwork is fantastic! There are a lot more fan comics around that I'd thought. Really good stuff, too.
***The German postal service continues to underwhelm... that book layout I'd been waiting for? It took them almost a week to deliver it. But anyway, now that it arrived I could finish the sketches and I hope I'm still more or less on schedule. On the plus side, I got a lot of work done on another project... which isn't even due before the fall, but it's still satisfying.

And, and? I got over my photoshop phobia in the process. For that project I wanted to insert some pattern into a selected area, and I just couldn't get that to work in Paint Shop Pro. So I yelled at my computer for about an hour as I stumbled around in PS, and finally it clicked. The layers feature still confuses me but now that I was forced to use PS, the program is starting to make sense.

Interesting link. Manga isn't my style, but this looks well done. They must be putting a lot of work into this.

This year in San Diego, I'll try to catch as many panels on web-comics as possible. Last year I barely got into any because the rooms filled, like that *snips*. Theres's a huge interest.

I love the LOTR comic. It's so well drawn!

But perhaps will we see more experimentation in the future, with the next generation of drawers gets more familiar with the media.

I think so; the younger folks will be more open to experimenting with the format than us old geysers. heh. Did you read McCloud's online chapter on webcomics?

Yes, I have read the McCloud about on webcomics. It was probably him that made me aware of the somewhat artificial limitations that many webcomics are created under.

Another thing I have noticed with longer (in time) webcomics. That you often can follow, as her skill develops and what kind of drawing style that she wants to develop, that the drawer gets more sure of her materials.
