Fannish dream: yesterday night I dreamed that Stephen Fry was visiting my grandma and me (my grandma's been dead for a decade, but there we were, back in our old house), and we were... having tea. Which is not a British cliché in that case, we drink tea a lot here as well. Anyway, he was very nice and pleasant company, and I woke up in a really good mood. Huh.

Figures, I dream about 'Bones' for once and it's a perfectly G-rated, gen dream. :P

I've been having a productive week, work-wise, even though I was goofing off plenty. The book I'm working on has so far been taking only about half the time I calculated (which is good because I lost a lot of time when I was sick with the evil virus). And the thing is, I look at the drawings and... they're good. I mean, I think those are some of the best illus I've done. And I think I owe it largely to the fan comics. Because doing those has freed me to try new techniques, time-saving techniques at that. Get a more confident line. At the end of the day, even if drawing those fan comics may take dozens or hundreds of hours, you end up with more time, ironically. And those that say that fanfic is a waste of time are completely and utterly clueless.

I went through the Betterbuffyfics yahoo message archives and picked out all my recs over the years, because I want them archived in one place. Easier than to search every time I want to rec an old fic to someone. And maybe some of you would like to read some older recs. There're something over a hundred recs altogether. I'll post them separately... people who come for recs don't need to hear about my weird dreams about Stephen Fry. *g*

Happy Easter to all of you who're celebrating!

Stephen Fry is such a hoot, you can tell me about him anytime!

Looking forward to the recs. They are beaucoup de work to pull together, and it is the lord's work.

I've been too busy with the holiday celebration here, but I will try what you've sent me either later tonight or early tomorrow. Thank you!! ::hugs:: *smooch*

Well, the main work was already done after all; I just had to copypaste them together which didn't take all that long. Now I'm just wondering whether I should go in first and fix all the broken links, of which there must be dozens. Ah, maybe I'll just post the whole bunch as it is and fix the links later one by one.

!!! That must have been a job of work, to say the least.

It's nice when the drawing isn't like pulling teeth, isn't it? Makes the whole world rosier.

It didn't take all that long. Yahoo's message search feature works fairly well, and fortunately all the recs are marked so I just had to search for the right keywords. The thing is that now I got five years' worth of recs... I imagine that at least one third of the links don't work any more. *That'd be work, to fix those... not sure, maybe I'll just leave them as they are and let people rely on their google-fu.

*nodnodnod* I have 23 drawings finished, 14 left to color, and I'm feeling relaxed. Normally I'm never relaxed in the middle of a project. I hope I can hold onto that feeling.

Congrats. The "investment" I've made in writing has not paid for itself yet, not even a good downpayment :)

As to recs, I'd just get 'em up with a big caveat about broekn links and fix 'em as you go. If people know the story title and author they can always google 'em in the meantime.

It's a long-term investment. :o)

Yeah, I really should do that. Somewhat reluctantly, but I don't fancy going through 120 links at once, many probably broken. Damn entropy, sites going down constantly. (But I just gave up my old site so I shouldn't complain.)
