Today the roomie was googling for next Friday's Dinner-with-Buffy recipe, and found this (sorry, it's in German...):

Lachs aus der Spülmaschine

Auch wenn Sie es nicht glauben: Auch mit der Spuelmaschine koennen Sie kochen.

1 Rezept
Lachsscheiben
Dill
Roter Pfeffer
Zitronenscheiben

Ganz besonders gut klappt es mit Fisch wie zum Beispiel Lachsfilet.

Die Spuelmaschine hat naemlich einen Vorteil: Der heisse Wasserdampf hat ueber die ganze Spuelzeit hinweg immer die gleiche Temperatur von etwa 80 Grad - geradezu ideal, um etwa Fisch zuzubereiten.

Wuerzen Sie also Lachsscheiben mit Dill, rotem Pfeffer, Zitronenscheiben, - ganz nach Belieben - und schlagen Sie die einzelnen Filets in Alufolie dicht ein, am Besten das Ganze noch in Frischhaltebeutel.

Legen Sie die Paeckchen in das oberste Fach der Spuelmaschine und ueberlassen Sie alles weitere Ihrem Spuelprogramm. Nach dem Spuelgang haben Sie nicht nur sauberes Geschirr fuer das Essen, sondern sogar schon eine Hauptspeise, naemlich koestlich duftenden, butterzarten Lachs!

Foil probably conducts the heat from the hot water to the fish better. A tupperware box, by putting air around the fish, would instead serve to insulate it.

Hey, I've seen it done on TV. The Surreal Gourmet did it on his show....I thought it looked pretty weird. Just remember not to put soap in the dishwasher!

Yeah, that was the part that made me boggle particularly hard, for the recipe above fails to mention that small fact.
