Yay, I finally found a paper where the ink doesn't bleed, so the lettering will go much more smoothly now. I'd tried drawing board, everything. Who knew that old HP inkjet paper would be useful for something.

Icon attempt #1!

And #2! I hope these don't look too dreadful to you; I can always delete, but I wanted one for comic announcement posts. :-) Should probably make one from the other panels, but the montage is so gorgeous I couldn't resist.

Wow, gorgeous icons, both of them! Very stylish, the typeface is perfect. (I'm gonna snag them too, yes? :)

Na klar! I am glad you like them. And hey, I had gorgeous source to work from.

*snicker*
Your German sounds really good, by the way.

Danke schön. But I'm afraid that's mostly because I know when to keep my mouth shut and not make an Esel of myself. Mostly. *flees* I wouldn't mind studying the language more, but my husband won't practice it with me because he's even rustier than I am. *rummages* Hey, I still have Buckley's Living German; I could review using that. Maybe I'll even *shudder* get to the Fraktur this time...

(To be fair, I can't read Korean calligraphy, either, and I have no idea how anyone reads calligraphy based on kanji/hanzi/hanjja.)

Yeah, I post very little in Japanese, and double-, triple, and quadruplecheck every sentence before hitting post. I'm too afraid to make grammatical mistakes... (which actually at this point hinders my progress with that language, I think.)

Well, as far as that decades old Fraktur goes, most everyone here has trouble reading that, too. And I'm with you on the Kanji calligraphy. It's pretty but I can't even recognize the most basic ones.

I started memorizing Hangul, because I find it utterly fascinating and beautiful in its logical structure. But I have not the slightest idea how to pronounce the Jamo; maybe I can get a Korean for Beginners tape from the library just so I can get a feeling for the pronunciation.
