Yay, I finally found a paper where the ink doesn't bleed, so the lettering will go much more smoothly now. I'd tried drawing board, everything. Who knew that old HP inkjet paper would be useful for something.

Artficial blood? I'm with Gunn, why would they bother.

And how much do I love that panel showing Angel's backstory, it is a thing of power and beauty.

Think blood = drug, artificial drug = superplusbonus drug. Like heroin.

I should have written that more clearly in the script. My bad.

No, I think it's clear enough. Beside, it's gonna become even clearer that this is not your run of the mill o-pos.

I just adore this one, too, especially the flashback. The way you've got the orb glowing and the rest in shadow, with the so understated "long story" bit of dialogue--great effect.

I also love the pan out in the last bit, adds a bit of change.

And the plot is really picking up--interested to see where this is going!

And I added this effect on my computer *beams*. I'm finally starting to use my graphic software properly. Though I was still using Paint Shop Pro, because me and Photoshop don't get along...

Fabulous! I LOVE this story and the illustrations.

Thanks!

Really glad you like it.
Now it's back to work... I have six large pages of artwork to do. I'm actually quite motivated to work faster, so I can get back to page six. How weird is that.

Getting better with each new page!
Loved the little back history montage for Angel..and there's the Scythe!

Icon attempt #1!

[identity profile] yhlee.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 07:29 pm (UTC)(link)
And #2! I hope these don't look too dreadful to you; I can always delete, but I wanted one for comic announcement posts. :-) Should probably make one from the other panels, but the montage is so gorgeous I couldn't resist.

Wow, gorgeous icons, both of them! Very stylish, the typeface is perfect. (I'm gonna snag them too, yes? :)

Na klar! I am glad you like them. And hey, I had gorgeous source to work from.

*snicker*
Your German sounds really good, by the way.

[identity profile] yhlee.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Danke schön. But I'm afraid that's mostly because I know when to keep my mouth shut and not make an Esel of myself. Mostly. *flees* I wouldn't mind studying the language more, but my husband won't practice it with me because he's even rustier than I am. *rummages* Hey, I still have Buckley's Living German; I could review using that. Maybe I'll even *shudder* get to the Fraktur this time...

(To be fair, I can't read Korean calligraphy, either, and I have no idea how anyone reads calligraphy based on kanji/hanzi/hanjja.)

Yeah, I post very little in Japanese, and double-, triple, and quadruplecheck every sentence before hitting post. I'm too afraid to make grammatical mistakes... (which actually at this point hinders my progress with that language, I think.)

Maybe I'll even *shudder* get to the Fraktur this time...

Well, as far as that decades old Fraktur goes, most everyone here has trouble reading that, too. And I'm with you on the Kanji calligraphy. It's pretty but I can't even recognize the most basic ones.

I started memorizing Hangul, because I find it utterly fascinating and beautiful in its logical structure. But I have not the slightest idea how to pronounce the Jamo; maybe I can get a Korean for Beginners tape from the library just so I can get a feeling for the pronunciation.

*dies*

The flashback? Tears in my eyes for some reason!

And the location (is that the right word? Scenery? Backdrop?) of the last panel, is BEautiful.

You know, there's a reason I once made this icon *points*

Thanks. It's always temping to keep the background simple to save time, but I thought this needed some atmosphere.

We finished watching s2 with Becoming I and II tonight... When the screen went dark, we all heaved a happy sigh. I love this show so much, it's crazy. I mean, this is a rewatch and it's still completely riveting. Damn, that's good writing. When Spike sing-sangs "Someone wasn't worthy", rofl. (And there was this other hilarious line which I keep forgetting...)

[identity profile] whichwitch666.livejournal.com 2006-08-26 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. It amazes me how this show stays fresh and surprising and works, no matter how many times you've watched.

"Someone wasn't worthy" - one of the best quotes ever :)
