The only redeeming quality of that ep in retrospect -- well, the only two -- are the appearance of Sam Ryan, who, if an SPN fan were to try, could be twisted into an SPN/ATS crossover idea, and the very last scene of Cordy and Angel and the baby falling asleep together. Those twenty seconds were pretty much the only ones worth watching.
But I can find plenty of other eps in the Buffyverse that I don't like, though (do Riley freakin' Finn ring a bell? Glory? Soulful!Spike?) -- just not many as much as this.
I do watch SPN, but I don't know who Sam Ryan is, so that leaves the last scene with Cordy, Angel, and Connor as the only good thing about this whole ep. But this is the only Angel episode I completely dislike.
On Buffy, there's more than one, I'm sure. Though I like Riley, once he's off the Super-duper drugs and becomes just a normal guy... who's just a bit too normal for the slayer. I like this idea. Though we shall not speak about that episode where he comes back with Mary Sue Finn in tow. Glory... okay, can't really be taken seriously as a super-villain, but at least she's funny on occasion. With BtVS, my main problem was that during the second half of s7, nothing frikkin' happened, every ep was the same, I couldn't even tell them apart.
Oh, we just watched Go Fish. No that's... not the best episode there ever was.
I will never, ever argue that "Go Fish" is a good episode. There could have been a better episode that provided the same functions, which were (a) to provide an emotional break between "I Only Have Eyes for You" and "Becoming" (if I'm remembering the order correctly) and (b) recapitulate S2's arc and foreshadow the ending. Like whoa.
