Fresh batch of Bones fic recs (part II)

My fic tastes aren't shippy so most of these are gen, with a generous dose of UST thrown in for good measure, usually Booth/Brennan. Pretty much like the show.


Restless by landrews
Summary: "Seeley Booth is restless."
Post-TBITL; 1,500 words. Character study.
Two Bodies In The Lab has spawned a ginormous number of fic - this is by far my favourite. Restrained, insightful, well-written, and very true to the character.

The Woman in the Riverbed (WIP) by dutchrub
Summary: "Brennan's skills are tested and her beliefs are challenged when a body found in a park unveils the darkest part human nature. Pre Soldier on the Grave. [BB]"
Casefile. So far, six fairly long chapters are out, and they are excellent. The author does a convincing job emulating the squintspeak scientific lingo, and the case is compelling.

Cliff Notes by MintExpresso
estimated length: over 10,000 words, complete
Summary: "When a journalist is discovered at the bottom of a cliff, it’s up to Brennan and Booth to catch the murderer and uncover the news that someone killed to protect.
Casefile. Great chemistry between Booth and Brennan and an original plot.

Absent Friends by imloopy
FBI agents are turning up dead. Now Booth is missing. And Brennan has a body to work on...
13,500 words, complete.
I read this one as a WIP. For once, following a story as it was updated added to the fun... for the author takes a devilish delight in ending her chapters with cliffhangers. So, just imagine having to wait a day between chapters to get the full reading experience *g*.

Imloopy is currently posting a new story, The Boy at the Building Site, and it's off to a promising start. First three chapters up, updates every other day or so.

Another post-TBITL vignette. The dialogue is so spot on that I could hear the voices while reading.

thank you! I've bookmarked all the fic I haven't read - which is most of it. these are new to me, and I'm so excited to have new Bonesfic, especially since the series finale means a long summer till new Bones episodes.

We live to please. :) I'm particularly happy that so many writers are tackling the longish casefile-style fic now.

Good thing the hiatus is not that long at least. And the DVD will be out at the beginning of August in the UK (I hope there'll be outtakes!).
