fanart: SGA

Here's a bit of SGA fanart that I never posted here, at least I think I didn't. Found while sorting through my image folders... it was originally a wallpaper made for last year's fandom_stocking.




Technique: mixed media. I threw everthing I had at this; basically it's a collage of bits from several fanart pieces I'd made, along with a mix of photomanip and Photoshop painting for the background. I was pleasantly suprised how well it all fit together - I've tried to combine traditional art and Photoshop art before and never could get it to really gel.

I like it! This is very cool. The little John in the puddlejumper (I love that I can tell it's him, even so small) the awesome Daedalus -- look at the angle you have on that. The detonation of the Wraith hive as they beat feet. Love it, and the Gen story continuing canon feel of it.

Thanks! Gotta love John's hair, it makes him very recognizable. Heh. That other ship wasn't the Daedalus though, it's another Wraith hive. I've never drawn the Daedalus, come to think of it.

I must say, drawing that exploding hive was fun. I gotta do that again sometime.

Oh my God, that is *gorgeous*! As a comic book fan, I really love look and style. Love, love, love the black-green sky and the texture of it versus the cool smooth marble of the planet.

Thanks. I just wanted to throw a couple of elements together, make a quick wallpaper... and in the end it wasn't quick - Photoshop always takes about ten times as long as I think - but I'm pleased with the result.
