5x14 Smile Time update

Uff. No, I haven't forgotten. This W is still very much IP...

This is page 4 of 6 and will make not so much sense if you haven't read the script... sorry, I just can't seem to bring myself to work chronologically and I felt like drawing sewers and run-down buildings. I've considered holding off posting until all remaining pages are done, but, well, I'm just not that patient. So there. WIP, totally out of order. Hope you like anyway.

The script and the first page are in this older post. (I have made a few minor changes to the script, mainly stretching it to six pages instead of five.)

Page 5 and 6 are already started on/almost finished and will hopefully be posted sometime this week, provided I don't goof off.

I'm happy you're saying that 'cuz that is kinda what I was aiming for. Like a pretty grittyness ;o)

So pretty I'm spending my night grapling with roses in oil. Quite inspiring, you.

There're still a few things that're vaguely bugging me but I couldn't put my finger on them so I decided to leave it for now. I might later try to use Photoshop, for example to add a little more brilliance and/or brightness to the building front.

I think it's lovely as it, but the joy of Photoshop is that you can play around and not kill the original. It's so liberating.

For convention's sake I'll mention Heroic Proportions. In comicdom the male is, oh, hell, 9 or 10 heads high, proportionally. Trust me, this project is so good, in so many ways, that no one will ever give a toss, but if job-wise you ever consider comics (I hope in many ways you dont, because it's massively a bitch) you might hear something about heroic proportions.

Not so much the slathering-colour-on-paper part, but the part where I try to imagine what colour an area should have.

Yeah. Again with the Photoshop and Illustrator love. You can try anything, and try again, without ruining the page. You can learn a lot without cruel repercussions, as God intended. :) How I love these applications.

But nothing looks quite like traditional media, not yet, and your pages are very cool. Be gentle.
