cofax7: the Cheyenne River Sioux reservation was hit with a devastating winter storm on 22 January, which knocked out water and power for basically all of the inhabitants. With an unemployment rate of 80% and some of the highest poverty rates in the country, the tribe by itself is in no position to repair the damage, and it's still winter. These people are without power or water. Please donate.

These people have been screwed over again and again through history, and even today they are largely ignored by the government, and it's so unfair it brings tears to my eyes. I once had the honor to be invited to a sundance at a Lakota reservation for a few days, and I was stunned by the kindness and hospitality from everyone I met. I can't give a lot of money right now, but I've been thinking that I could trade some more of my fanart... if anyone here is interested in an original of stuff I've done, email me (astridv at lj dot com) and maybe we can hash something out; I'd trade the original art in return for a donation to the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Storm Relief linked above. (note: I won't give away the larger, full-scene illustrations for less than a $50 donation, and not all of my originals are for sale. I can't part with the original of the piece in my icon or with any of my comic pages ... plus some just don't look good as originals because I did a lot of fixing-up in Photoshop.)

My Snark offset lithography prints are also up for grabs btw, I'd just have to check how many I have left but I should have at least one of each. Those I'd give away for $15 a piece (note: They're fairly large and the typography is different than in these scans.)
