Mafdet, slayer of serpents by sqbr (SG-1)
summary: The Goa'uld are cruel and powerful beings, and they ruled Ancient Egypt as gods. They are, of course, no match for a cat.
Great story idea, very funny, and good execution too - the loose, cartoony lineart looks effortless and works really well for the story. And I love the coloring. (The pages took a while for me to load, but it's worth the wait.)
Jason Momoa is the New Conan the Barbarian
Whoot! \o/ This is good news. He deserves a high-profile role to showcase his talent and I think he can be really great in it... somehow I'm convinced he'll bring more nuance to it than Schwarzenegger. I just hope, hope, hope the script will be good. Please, writers, give him a good script. Because I so want to watch that.
Now if we could just get that show starring Luttrell and Hewlett I'd be a happy fangirl. But I don't think that has gotten past the rumor stage.
something completely different - if you participated in the fandom auction and want to donate to Doctors Without Borders and you're in Germany: don't go to their German site, donate right at the credit card form at the US site. The German site doesn't give electronic confirmation (or my Firefox add-ons blocked it), and they only send a mail stating they will send a paper confirmation four weeks after charging the bank account. And the email doesn't mention the amount donated. In comparison, donating at the US site was a piece of cake.
Uh, also (it may be just me but you never know) the US notation for prices is 1,234.00, where in Germany it's 1.234,00. I damn near wrote xx,00. I don't know what would happen if one hits send on that but better not find out? ;)

Ooh, that sounds lovely, what rumors are you hearing? Last I heard, Hewlett was working on creating & writing something tentatively pre-titled Judas Run and it maybe might hopefully possibly have J-Flan and Christopher Judge in it.
If it has those folks plus Rachel as the regulars, and they write Jewel Staite a nice recurring guest star role, while Jason's off doing Conan? Then my post-SGA hopes for the cast will be SO happily fulfilled.

I'm pretty sure it was someone on my reading list, I think telesilla, who posted about a pitch for tv series that Rachel has written, starring herself. I forgot the details, and it may be wishful thinking, but I think it was about her as an investigator of some kind, and David's name fell, too. But don't quote me on that, lest we get people's hopes up for nothing.
Hewlett's project with Joe and Chris is yet another thing. It would be nice if that went somewhere. It's been in develepment hell for quite a while.

Yeah. A fangirl can dream :)
And with Jewel Staite, hell yes! First I was thinking, oh no, than we'd have to put up with all those fans griping about her presence. Screw that, haters to the left. :P
