Happy New Year everybody! I had a lovely night with friends, fondue, and fireworks (not our own; we watched everybody elses). The cat was under the bed the whole time, poor bunny. Our neighbour's dogs freak out even worse, except for his trained hunting dog who gets all "Yay, where's the action?!" when she hears loud bangs. Anyway, I'm not a fan of fireworks because, well, I always had pets... but last night, with the new layer of snow that reflected the colors of the fireworks, was pretty. Then we went back inside and on the internet to show each other our fave YouTube clips. :D

Strangely enough none of my rats ever seem bothered by fireworks. I think they can somehow tell that a noise is outside and can't hurt them, because while they startle with all unexpected sounds inside and run under cover, like when I drop something, fireworks or anything else outside (sirens, drunken shouting, machines etc) does not scare them at all.
