This is ridiculously awesome fan art. I love all the little details, like the faded tress in the background and the snow on the ground around them, Teyla being watchful and Rodney's face contorted in pain. And, omg, the sparse but effective use of color. :D

Oh, the color. I want to burst into songs of praise for The Glorious Packing Paper. The coloring I did was minimal and it took like no time at all. I've colored on wrapping paper before, but I always used watercolor, and the paper sucked most of the luminosity out of the color. Still looks nice, but it doesn't compare to the effect you can get with acrylics.

Oh, oh I love everything about this! From the blood to the eyes, to the belt around Rodney's boot to the way he's cradled in Teyla's arms. This is gorgeous! Poor Teyla and Rodney (reminds me of a scene in White Fang.)

I'm so glad you like it. I found this one really challenging - I've always drawn nothing but gen... but that made it all the more interesting. Fun prompt, too. (And the h/c helped my inner genficcer to get with the program.)
