I have only a few more sketches to draw for work today, then I can go back to that fic that Rheanna rec'd the other day: Indelible by
shaenie. I've just read that scene with the... in the... wow! Really eager to see how it continues. *rubs hands* [eta: SGA Big Bang is live?! Yay. Oh man, I gotta read faster!]
Haven't watched a single minute of the Olympics so far. Words can't express my disinterest.
linkage of the day: very good interview with Jason Momoa. link

I'd been reading a few (supposed) ep-discussion threads at Gateworld that were somehow all about Keller's incompetence as a Doctor... so as I was trying to figure out how a fear of hights and of weapon-wielding warriors makes one an incompetent medical professional, the logic threatened to break my brain. Hence, fanart. ;)

Nice way of dealing with pseudo ep-discussions ;)

Heh. Well, every once in a while I get a sudden weird urge to read spoilers (which I usually stay clear of) and GW is a good place for those.

SGA is still one of those shows that I DVR then lately tend to catch when there's nothing else on or recorded.
I've caught very little of the Olympics this time as well.
I've been busy at work getting deep into programming the next generation replacement for an important application from scratch. Not just a rewrite in a more modern language (C#.NET versus old FoxPro, but getting to take a completely fresh look, starting with a blank slate. I'm not even looking at any of the old code, just picking a few people's brains about the underlying business need, which doesn't sound sexy at all (medical insurance claim EDI) but for which I'm getting to apply a lot of different technologies. I pretty much have a free rein on it, working directly with a VP who in another company migh have a title like 'Chief Software Architect'. Like I've said before, getting to polish and apply my skills on real world problems, on programs that actually matter in the real world, is much more satisfying than teaching introductory-level students in a vacuum at the university. Somehow doing *both* might have been nice, but it didn't work out that way.
