I agree that with SGA there is some fertile ground in in basic character relationships, but the show just does so little with what its got. One recent exception I appreciated was the ep in which Mackay's sister was kidnapped, and Shepard talked the tech billionaire into sacrificing himself as the guinea pig: the Mac/Shep at the end where the former tries to thank the latter who's still uncomfortable with what he did.
But so often we only get old married couple bickering and not much deeper.
I'd also like to see something deeper with Shepard & Ronon in the vein of the whole "fellow warriors" thing.

As to OTW being about fanfic... no problem, but what's goofy is their "fanworks" terminology is much broader. IMO they should reach out more broadly *or* rein in their rhetoric a bit.
