I finished coloring the illus for that book that I've been working on, on and off, for months. Finally. It was mostly fun but man, I'm wiped. Coloring is exhausting - except when it's fanart, for reasons beyond me.
All that's missing is the cover art; had that saved for last. I need to draft that right now so I can email it off tonight.
So, I'm trying to envision the cover. Instead I'm seeing this rather compelling image of a wavy sea with Atlantis in the background. Go away, interference... gotta compartmentalize.
(I love drawing water...)
Counting this one, I'll have illustrated eight books in the past ten months. That accounts for the feeling wiped, I guess. None of those is actually out yet so I can't put any of the most recent stuff on my website. That's really one of the many cool aspects of fanart: the instant gratification... you finish, you post it, no waiting.
Well, anyway, I have a folder full of links I've been wanting to post, and a stack of unread fanfic beckoning. So I will stop rambling and get on that cover art now... the next post should have some, um, actual content. ;)

No deadlines? :) I find they take the fun out of everything. Even before I start, I imagine not finishing in time and... well. No more fun.
I love drawing water...
You do? It's a bit too hard for me, I think. I've just mastered the art of drawing folds in clothes, and am happy to experiment with that for the time being. *lol*

Nah, the deadlines aren't the problem, they're actually useful when it comes to creativity. In a way I almost, sometimes, like the deadline frenzy... in extreme cases it can be like being on some really good drugs (or so I imagine, as I don't have any actual experience with really good drugs...;)
I think it's more the fact that the fanart is completely voluntary. Just knowing that I could discard it anytime I want - not that I want to - takes away all the pressure.

Yeah, drapery should keep you occupied for a while.
I've been thinking about drawing an underwater scene for SGA ever since I started watching. Luckily some of the eps I watched most recently have answered my question whether those puddlejumpers can dive. :)
