Better Buffy Fiction Archive is back
I'm happy to announce that the archive is back online, in large parts thanks to
landrews,
littleheaven70, and
psychofilly at dbfandom.com, who offered us a subdomain at their site (and went through quite a bit of trouble to get it set up).
Here's the new location of the archive: http://bbfarchive.dbfandom.com
The search engine as well as all the other scripts appear to be running fine, with the exception of the Quicksearch engine which for some reason produces blank html pages. I worked around that problem for now by simply listing all the stories on one page - bypassing the quicksearch links altogether - until I find the time to fix it.
In the meantime, I thought maybe I could save some time by asking you guys for help with these links: those are the links to offsite stories that have become defunct over time. If you happen to know working links for any of the fics listed below, please comment here or mail me at astridv at livejournal dot com.

How's your new toy, btw? Working okay? It is fun? Oh, hey - email me about that rebate, okay?

I love my new toy. I think I should buy it an additional battery though, because those 4 hours of juice the guy mentioned were rather optimistic. It just occurred to me that I can use the laptop on my desk when I need picture reference. As it is now, I either have to print it in b/w, or crane my neck and stare at the computer at the other side of the room.
Also, site: Yay. Was about time.

Good thing we archived onsite whatever we could... 20% of the offsite links are broken after, what, two years? *groans* And I haven't even checked the links to the authors's sites, over 400 of them. Maybe one day when I'm very very bored...

And - I have a question: do you plan to add new stories?

And - I have a question: do you plan to add new stories?
Alas, no. I will have to add a note saying that on the main page. I haven't been a mod at bbf for over a year and since I left I've just been maintaining the archive at the level it's now. I'd been kinda hoping someone would take over the updating, but at this point I don't really think that's feasible. Shame, though, there're still a whole lot of great fics listed in bbf's links...
Link correction for a story

It's been ten years since its posting (less a few months). Thanks for the recc on your page! And for still caring to know where the story can be found, after all this time. Readers are still finding the story. :)

I know, right? It's sad to see so much classic fic disappear... not just Buffy, same for Voyager, DS9, all the older fandoms... links become defunct at a freakish rate.
I'm glad you're enjoying the archive, thanks for taking the time to comment!
