(no subject)
I should be working tonight but I think I'm too wiped. I was trying to remember when my last day off was, and drawing a complete blank. Though I'm not complaining, I was just on a roll and until now the work went almost effortlessly, didn't even feel like work. But that wave of creativity seems to have ebbed off somewhat.
At least as of today all the inkwork of this book is finished; have to scan them all in, print and color them. I was hoping I'd be completely done by the end of this month but that's not gonna happen. Bah, it was crazy planning, anyway. Deadline for this one is July31 so no problem there, just that I'll be leaving for San Diego near the end of next month and there's still the small matter of my (blechh) taxes which I have to do sometime before. And one more book cover.
It's all doable though. I got one more script lying around but if necessary that can wait until after my vacation. And so I shall take tonight off and watch an episode of NCIS (season two; I'm happy I've been savouring them for hiatus-time :o). And read some fic, maybe. I've been lousy with feedbacking, sorry. I just don't have much brainspace left at the moment.
Been in a grumpy mood today because I'd been running a lot recently and I was just really getting into it... have been upping the distance to 11km or so. Then yesterday, I felt that warning twinge in my left foot that I'd already noticed once or twice last week (though not while running). I don't know if that twinge stems from the time I dropped a pair of scissors on the foot last week, or because I've been overdoing the running. But when there's a warning twinge, I heed the warning. So I broke off the run and walked back, and now I have to take at least a couple day break, wait until it's gone. Hope it won't take longer than that. I already know that by the time I can get back to it, my body will have forgotten how cool it is to run, and I'll have to start from scratch.
But anyway, to make up for it: I checked out Aikido class today (I decided to switch from Ving Tsun... too static for my tastes) and liked it a lot. Much of my wiped state probably comes from that class, not from work, come to think of it. Luckily the sensei said that he doesn't care if I'd signed up for that other class, so I'll just attend this one from now on. It's been ten years since I last practiced, and wow. I still know how to do the basic movements, but as to the forms, not so much really. It was pretty challenging.
Also, here's some artwork for a book to come out next spring. I got the okay to put some of them in my online portfolio, so I can share them here as well.

Now, NCIS. I'm craving some Tony/Kate bitching. Or Tony/McGee bitching. Or Gibbs... no, Gibbs doesn't bitch.
