I'm not pissed at the WB - TV is a business and they apparently believe the show's not lucrative enough any longer. I think they need a better understanding of the fannish mindset if they think the diehard fans will just move on to Dark Shadows, but whatever. Their decision.

I'm not even angry that the show's ending now. I'm gonna miss it a lot to have new eps, but I don't think the fandom is going anywhere anytime soon. Star Trek is still around, and Buffy/Angel plays in the same league.

What pisses me off beyond belief are those fen who're popping the champagne corks at the news. If they don't like the direction the show has taken, okay. They think this season obviously sucks (even if they're not watching anymore). Okay. But how does anyone gain satisfaction from the fact that those of us who still enjoy the show don't get to watch it anymore? Misery loves company, or what? That's company I can easily do without.

I think sometime today I moved from denial toward anger.

There are? Jeez, then I'm glad I've managed to avoid them all day. What's it to them if they no longer watch the show? That's just sick. I think I'm sharing that anger.

I would like to say that I was angry at some point, but the truth is I wasn't, I haven't been, and I won't ever be. I was mostly just... disappointed. Disappointed that there will be no new eps once this season is over. Disappointed that some questions will never be fully answered. Disappointed that the potential will no longer be offered.

Yeah, that sums it up pretty well. A lot hinges now on how they end it. Which is why I'm glad they got the early notice.

Trust me, you don't want to. Really bad for the blood pressure. Now a big part of me want to just rush over and tell them exactly what I think of them, the smaller and more reasonable part knows that that would be a complete waste of time.

Might feel good, though ;o).

My friendslist is free of that kind of gloating, but I saw it when I checked a friend's flist, which was admittedly a mistake. And the board where those guys gather is such a buzzkill that it's hard to take even at the best of times...
