GIP (or, yes, I'm a sheep)
So, one hapless journalist compared 'Bones' fans to vultures, and now everybody's making vulture icons. :P
As serendipity would have it I already happened to have a few vultures lying around. As is so often the case.
And, hey, I just learned how to pick a different icon from the default. Yes, it actually took me three years to figure that out.

Whoever he is, he must be new to the internet.

This is what he said that sparked the whole thing:
>>A short interim post about the fans of tv shows. They can be an intensely fanatical rabid bunch, can't they. I was amazed how fast they descended after I posted the first part of the Hart Hanson profile/interview/whatever it is. They must have search engines or feeders or something (showing my lack of internet knowledge here) looking for words like Bones or Boreanaz or Hart even... because within an hour, like vultures (or crows) to a carcass, they swooped in and picked me Bones clean.<<
He also linked to my post in 206, which frustrated me...so we decided to turn it around into a positive, since Vultures actually really did work as a 'fandom' name.
Anywho, welcome to vulturedom :)

Newbie was lucky you didn't return the favour. :oP
Though it is good PR for the community... if that guy's blog is reasonably high-profile, anyway.
Like I said, I could even see his point if he hadn't chosen to put both feet in his mouth while making it. But the condescension you could see in the comments regarding thw fans... that really annoyed me.
In conclusion, vultures are pretty cool birds. :o)
