Congrats kitty :) Thanks for pointing me toward that community. I just started climbing (bouldering so far, but we start with top rope next week) a few months ago but hadn't thought to look for one. Today our trainer recommended that we look at climbing videos online. Do you have any recs? I would have just put "boulder" into youtube search, and the videos that come up are very impressive but also almost entirely things I won't be able to do ever.
Oh, that's so cool that you're climbing too now. Lemme see... most of the vids I like are elite stuff that us mundanes can't ever hope to do, if only cause we started out too late - but it's still great to watch, inspiring rather than frustrating, and I think you can learn something from it even if it's grades above what you climb yourself.
I only started climbing because my brother recommended it after the hockey class didn't work for me schedule-wise, but it's fun :) It's also very helpful to have a trainer who explains basic techniques etc. I could use a lot of strength training, especially for the arms, but laziness is a problem. (Doesn't help that I have to be careful or my wrists start hurting.)
Thanks for the vid links! Climbing on buildings also looks very impressive, but I'll stick to halls ^^

If you're interesting in buildering, these are quite good:

I remember them to be pretty accessible.
This boulder problem looks crazy difficult; it's short and cool to watch. Wait for the last guy!

I found a few videos explaining basic climbing techniques very well, and I thought I linked them but I can't find them rn.
If you ask for recs in the comm, I bet they'll have something.
