Yesterday it worked.
Today it is not working.
Windows is like that. (haiku Windows error message)
For the past weeks my computer has been behaving like it's in its last throws. My plan was to sit out the problem but it's steadily getting worse.
The newest trick is that it'll just shut down without warning, then reboot. Also, sometimes the browser is really slow. Just now, the printer stopped working; that's a new quirk. [eta: printer works again, yay] And the computer refuses to recognize the external HD, which is really annoying since I got quite a bit of data to back up. I wonder if the problem with installing the latest XP security updates are related to this as well. And my inability to install that USB II controller (plug and play, my ass). In other words, argh.
I don't know if I'd rather have the problem to be a virus or a hardware problem... both options kinda suck. Maybe it's just a defect ventilator.
My old computer doesn't have DSL and I have only hazy memories of how I got the ISDN to work. I might suddenly drop off the face of the net, until this gets fixed.

(Still haven't heard from those fanart contest people. I have to think they're not terribly organized. :P)

And if you drop off the internet I will be sad.
It's not just the net. If I lose my computer, I lose my tv picture, dvd, my avi-files... I don't even own a regular tv any more, since my ATI card can do it just as well. Meh. Computers are great when they're working, but when not, they're a real nuisance.
