Summary: The redemption of Grant Ward.
A complex and plausible redemption story that doesn't attempt to whitewash anything. The story goes some very dark places especially in the beginning and it doesn't ignore the consequences. There are no easy fixes, but it's still ultimately a hopeful story. The characterizations are nuanced and the spy plot is gritty and tense. Has already been jossed in parts but it's a good read as a canon AU fic.
(I could have done without the Skye bashing in the author's notes. If that sort of thing bothers you as much as it does me, I'd skip the notes because they leave an unnecessary bitter taste, while there's no actual character bashing in the story itself.)
