Can someone link me to interesting discussions of The Winter Soldier and in particular speculation what it might mean long-term for Agents of Shield, but without casual AoS bashing in the post or the comments? I'm getting tired of clicking on links and backing right out again.

You want to start one with me?

I just finished work in time for our weekly dinner&tv night (First asparagus of the year!) but maybe later I can try to get my thoughts in a coherent form. I've been wondering about the ramifications a LOT. Mostly, right now, I'm worried whether one of the team will actually turn out to be a traitor. (Do you happen to have seen the stills for 1x18 Providence? I don't want to spoil anyone.)
As to where the show might go from here, this post is short and has no comments I can see, but I can see this happening. I was sort of hoping for something like this from early on in the season.
So What the @#$% Happens to Marvel’s AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.?
But in addition to that... there's also the questions about what happens to the parts of SHIELD that weren't corrupted and doing legit work (or at least thinking they were). All the contained baddies and volatile objects that do need guarding. And what happens to agents who're undercover, now that all the classified data is out there in the wild? Doesn't that endanger a lot of good people? So many questions.
Oops, roommate just came home, gotta go cook some asparagus. I'll try to find the other links I found.

It's really boggling, since I genuinely think it's a good show that does interesting things and the actors are not only hot but also talented. Any it's not like some critics say, that the wheel was turned around in the most recent eps because the creators "listened to the fans". Nope. The recent story arc was set-up long-term, right from the beginning and really, you could see it coming, clues were dropped left and right. But many people were't willing to watch it with an open mind, that's what I think.
Well, most of the criticism make little or no sense and make me wonder through what lense they're watching the show. Like, all-white cast?
On LJ it's downright fashionable to hate on the show. One post I found through DW search, a commenter said some nasty things about the show and the OP kind of told them off, saying "how did you know I'm not a fan of the show?" The commenter apologized and then said that they actually really enjoy the show. What? It's okay to admit you like something, people.

J. August Richards got cast as Deathlok. Who is a named Marvel character and superhero! I love the fakeout that they did with him and the character development he's been getting. He's totally getting the origin story treatment that they alluded to in the first episode. It's brilliant. I hope he joins as a regular, but the fact that the show pulled a huge fakeout with him, and twice now, has me in love with it.
I love the movie tie-ins, which obviously all had to be planned well in advance, though people keep saying that's desperation on Marvel's part. I think a couple episodes were a bit slow, but that happens in almost any series.
