I'm still struck with the plague of evil so I can't work out and I can't talk, like, at all... plus I'm again/still waiting for the next batch of work. Last week I was so generally miserable that I was totally okay with being a tv-watching, fanfic reading blob, but now my energy seems to be slowly coming back, I'm starting to feel a little restless. I should see if I can at least do something useful and get my taxes finished. I might look for another SHIELD fanart prompt, too. I'm thinking of a fake comic cover; just don't have a particular scene in mind yet.

Hm. I could also study Japanese, I guess. Right now there's really no excuse not to. Attack them kanji. Especially since I'm gonna miss class tonight. That sounds like a plan.

My 16 year old has flashcards you can probably borrow. He's been on the Japanese since he was 14. I'm told his accent is atrocious, but that he is not much less articulate, communication-wise, than the average Japanese teenager.

That's kind of where he is now. He speaks a limited amount and kind of reads, but can't really write it at all. Or he can, but it's like a first grader with a crayon. That's what he's using the flashcards for now. He takes the English word on one side, draws what he hopes is the appropriate kanji, and flips it over to check.

He's been kind of Japanese obsessed since he was 12 or so. I honestly didn't think he had it in him to even really attempt a second language.

And also, where did you get that? Is there a link or something to it, or was it in a real store (oh, the dreaded REAL store).
