Today the cat woke me up at dark 'o clock in the morning but I made the best of it and started my Agents of Shield download because why not. Then I got up an hour later at almost-dawn and watched the episode. Spent the next few hours overwhelmed by Feelings and reading the relevant tumblr tags. Can I just say: that ep was worth the four week wait! (But I'm very glad we won't have to wait that long for the next one because, gah.)

Went to town sometime later to see if I could sell some jewelry I had inherited from somewhere, which had been gathering dust for years and which I had, at one point, already thrown in the trash because I thought they were all fake anyway. Good thing I fished them out again... turns out, the gold's real. Pearls are real. That little trip earned me 164 Euro, hussah! I can't believe I almost threw that... nope, won't even think about that.

I had to bike back home because I didn't have my ID with me, then back to town to show said ID and collect my money, and back home again. Then back to town for our monthly Japanese gettogether, and back home. Oh, and sawed a few more branches off the hazelnut somewhere in there. All in all it was a strangely productive day even though I'm still waiting for my script and can't work.

I'm starting to get antsy. I have work lined up so there's no point in looking for a filler job, but I need some kind of project right now. If anyone has an idea for, like, a SHIELD or hawkguy mini comic, I'd be all ears.

I think I'll rewatch the Shield ep tonight. Or maybe I'll save it for tomorrow.
I can't get over how amazing this episode was.

As far as visual things lacking epic plots go, I really like visual/physical humor, like something a bit slapstick about things going wrong on an op, or just in everyday life, but I don't have concrete ideas for the gags, because I'm not funny.

Maybe I should go through the existing ficlets and see if one of them could be turned into a comic. That worked well for Hawkeye.

The only things I've written myself so far have been comedy. It seems to come naturally; I don't even know if I could do something more serious.

For a mini-comic, how about *announcer voice*: Skye's adventures as Agent Melinda May.

I think this was the first AoSHIELD episode I've seen since the second one (third one? When they're in South America?) and... when did it get good? This was a really excellent episode. The team was acting like (a) a team and (b) a team of human beings and not stereotypes and everything to do with Coulson was magnificent. Clark Gregg sold it all. Is this what the episodes are like now? I might have to start watching again.

General consensus seems to be that episode 6 (FZZT) is when the show got good. As for me, I saw the potential and enjoyed it right from the start and ep 4 (Eye Spye) is where it all started to really come together. Anyway, the characters have been very steadily growing and coming together as a team.
