author's notes: This is my version of what happened after the door closed, with the picture of Ward in a towel from Twitter as inspiration. (It's like one of those essays that you write in school based on a picture of like a cat in a tree with a dog barking at it.)

Been a while since I was into an open canon... (well, aside from the MCU, but that's different...) I don't remember being this impatient waiting for the next episode since my AtS days.
Btw, anyone get some Shield icons to share? I need one for May and one for Ward, at least.

That was a nice take on the scene of the closing door….

Although I have to say that I didn't feel like that scene jossed anything. There was so much left up to the interpretation of the viewer!

And nothing in the ship in that fic would preclude the other ship, the May/Coulson ship, you know?

Or maybe I'm just too unattached to outcome, LOL.

I totally agree about that; I'm really surprised that some people interpret that scene 100% as "they hooked up without a doubt" while others are going "obviously there were just having a good talk... to me this scene was completely ambiguous, quite intentionally so, and at this point there's no way to tell. Whichever way they'll go on the show won't surprise me because at this point both versions would feel in character to me, and that's the important thing.

I rather like the ambiguity. Actually I loved the whole scene. It was so unexpected and so intruing.

Yeah, if they did indeed hook up, it seems more like a one-time stress release/human connection in a time of need for both of them. And they're both so professional and dedicated that I don't see it disturbing their future working relationship.

eta: misread that sentence... I was thinking about the show. As to the fic: Yup.
