Avengers WIP heads-up: SallyExactly, one of the very best Nat&Clint mission fic writers out there imo, is writing a sequel to 'Chance': Partners. I wanted to wait until it's finished but then I started to read the first page and was hooked immediately. (Still on chapter one 'cause I'm savouring this one but I figured I'd share. It's a nice, long one - she already has over 80,000 words posted.)

Oh man, I have a persistent hankering for fic about Skye & Ward, and the fandom right now is all about the FitzSimmons. Not that I blame them, I love those two on the show and Iain De Caestecker in particular knocked my socks off this ep... but fic-wise there's this darn itch that FitzSimmons fic just don't scratch properly. What's a fangirl to do?

I adore Simmons, but I love her best with Skye, whom fandom seems to generally not like. So I'm in a similar situation to you. Wah.

Wah indeed. :) But well, it's still early and the next eps are bound to showcase other characters in various constellations, so I'm hoping for more variety of fic as a result. The weeks after the Skye-heavy eps, there was quite a bit of meta and also fic so, *fingers crossed*. There was lots of Skye appreciation, too.

I'm fortunately not seeing too much Skye hate; I'm mostly on tumblr (hah, ironic, I know) and if there are haters I've already savioured them.

I also adore May and Coulson together and there's not much fic either, but at least there the show is giving me so many warm fuzzy feelings moments on that front; if they keep that up, I'm good. But the distance between Skye and Ward is... well, very much in character and just what I expected but I would like some fix-it fic as a band-aid.

I think that there's a feeling that the show will eventually give us Skye/Ward, so maybe there's not a lot of impetus to fill in Skye/Ward or Skye&Ward early on?

I'm holding out hope for May/Skye, myself, since Joss already broke that barrier with Willow/Tara, and yes, I know that Joss isn't hands on day to day running the show, but he does influence the atmosphere.

I wouldn't mind if the show kept the relationships entirely open, just gave us lots of various interactions and subtext... that would make the greatest number of people happy and for everything shippier there's fanfic.
