Barely half past five and already the sun has almost set. Wah. At least I seem to have succeeded in changing my sleeping patterns; got up at eight this morning. I made use of the sunny day to climb at three different spots all over town. Three full hours of sunlight, all in all. That's the stuff to charge the batteries. I hate the change from summer to winter time so much. Even if I didn't like light in the afternoon/evening better than morning, it's just such a nonsense to shift timekeeping around for spurious reasons, only because once someone claimed it might have advantages that they could then never conclusively prove, with the only sure effects being that there are more traffic and accidental deaths the Monday right after, iirc.

Yeah, every year it's the same... I'm dealing fine with the shortening days until, bam, winter time and all of a sudden it gets dark in the afternoon. I agree that that hour of daylight would be a lot more precious in the evening. Soon I'll be counting the days to solstice.

There's no benefit to DST I can see, heaven knows why they still instist on it. On top of increased traffic problems, there're other problems like farmers having to adapt the time they milk their cows, who don't react well to changes in their daily routine.
