I can't seem to get tumblr saviour to work. I installed it and added all the relevant tags to my blacklist but my dash is still full of shows I don't watch. Help?

I don't use it myself, but from what I gathered on Tumblr these scripts periodically stop working because Tumblr hates users changing their interface and user experience to make Tumblr work. The script I used that could hide individual posts (I'd use it mostly so I wouldn't see squicky or insanely blinking things or such) stopped working two or three of Tumblrs constant interface changes ago.

I've been running mine for maybe two weeks now? And I don't think it has blocked a single thing so far. I don't want to unfollow people every time they change their main fandoms (apparently people notice that, I gathered) but right now my dash is 95% stuff-I'm-not-interested-in.

I just installed Tumblr Savior in my Firefox and it seems to work fine for me. At least when I entered snk in my blacklist it collapsed posts about that anime or manga that's been so popular on my dash lately but that I'm not into. So it works ok out of the box for me, without even restarting my browser.

Weird. FWIW, I have AdBlockPlus and NoScript installed as well. It's puzzling. How have you input the words on the blacklist? For example I haven't entered a # as if to block tags, but just the term itself.

No, I didn't use # except once.
Oh, wait... I see what the problem might be. checking it out...

eta: no, what wasn't it. I thought the omitted spaces after the comma were the cause. This is what it looks like:

why are you editing the script instead of putting it in the interface with the black list/white list tab? have you tried setting it back to the default, and then entering through the interface just one term at the time, to see whether that works, and then add more?

I didn't find it immediately either, for me there is a tiny icon in the bottom bar of the browser on the right side, with a T symbol. My version is 0.4.7, btw.

It looks like you made some progress with TumblrSavior, but I also thought I'd add that if there's nothing in the text or tags that pings on your blacklist, the post will still show up and that includes anything text-based within a .gif-set (like how people add the dialog to the scene in text). TS cuts down on a lot of posts, but there are still a fair amount (especially at the general fandom level, where people re-blog photos or .gifs w/o tagging) that show up.

Yeah, there's always gonna be posts that slip through the cracks but a little scrolling is fine. Looks like the majority of the posts I don't want are tagged. Just by entering 'game of thrones' earlier, I made my dashboard readable again.

It's essential in order to use the dashboard at all. It's weird that tumblr doesn't offer that option.

This is why I switched to blacklist in Xkit, I find it works more consistently.

For now TS seems to work fine but I'll keep that in mind as an alternative.
