While I was looking at some pics I found an old post in which I talk about watching Thor. Briefly, because the movie really didn't impress me. It's so funny how falling for a fandom sometimes works... back then I wouldn't have thought in a million years that a year later I'd be reading fic for that movie. So it goes.
(I also said, at one point in the past: "Buffy the Vampire Slayer? Teen show, and what a stupid name, I'm not watching that!")

40 minutes later my roommate comes home and asks what I'm watching and I'm just about to say automatically "Just that stupid show, Angel" and then I realize, wait a sec... this ep's not stupid. In fact, this show is really fun.
And about a week later that show was all I could think about. :D

I liked Buffy quite a bit (more the early seasons than the later ones), but Angel will always be the show of my heart. ♥

Yeah, I love both shows but Angel was the show of my heart and I love it just a little bit more.
I rewatch both shows all the time with friends. They're still great watching.

I can't get my husband to watch Angel with me because he can't stand Angel (which, to be fair, makes the show kind of hard to like!), but I'm waiting for my daughter to be old enough that I can start her on Buffy. =)

I mean, look at this icon. How can you hate this guy. *pets*

My husband has some of the most sensitive embarrassment squick issues I've ever seen in a guy. You have to admit, especially for early Angel-the-character that...could be an issue. *G*

There are things like Buffy and Angel that I waited a long time to dive into, but the only thing I remember being aggressively indifferent to was Downton Abbey, back when everybody liked it. Then I actually got into it when it turned into sort of a trainwreck.

Falling for a new fandom always hits me completely unexpectedly. Sometimes it takes only five minutes, sometimes four or five episodes, but so far I could never predict it. But the moment I fall, I know it. Awesome feeling. :)

FMA is one of my favorite examples, because I got halfway through volume 23 of the manga bopping along going, "Huh, this is pretty cool!" and then in the middle of that book, I had a, "Oh, damn, this is going to be a thing!" moment.
