Hey, elljay finally let me log in again. It doesn't like Firefox, it seems. Quick post before it kicks me out again...

After nine days of working pretty much morning (okay, in my universe that means 11-12 am) to night (3-4am) (and I did take a couple hour break for a trip to the gym every evening) (so it wasn't really all that bad) I almost dare not say it because I don't wanna jinx it... but it looks like I've caught up with my schedule. Whoot. That was... not really fun. Don't need to do that again anytime soon. But. I have four pages left, and those are tricky bastards which is why I didn't want to have to rush them. And now I can take my time to do them right, which was the whole point. So, I'm happy.

I got a copy of a new book of mine today, coming out this month. It's about Piet, the pirate cook :o)...

hee

this will not be of that much interest for the esteemed reader of this journal unless said reader happens to be a 3-5 year old German kid...

gakked this link from [livejournal.com profile] a2zmom, proof that advertisements don't have to be dull: The new Honda Accord Ad. Really, really cool! It took them 606 takes to do this, and if you watch the spot you can see why.

Hey, Piet is hot! (can you tell I'm not a 3-5 year old German kid? ;)

BTW, That "new" Honda Accord ad is at least 2 years old. But it *is* a rather amazing ad.

Hey, Piet is hot!
rotfl

Not the reaction one usually gets from the readers. But, yeah... no reason the artist can't have a little eye candy while she's working, no? ;)

The ad isn't new? Strange, I never saw it until last month, it was on some British channel. They didn't show it in full, though.

There's also an old movie I saw at the MASS MOCA once, which probably inspired this ad. I wonder if that one's floating around on the net as well. It went on for like half an hour. Just things, moving. Fascinating stuff.

I love the illustration. Then again, children's book illustrations are a fav thing of mine.

Mine, too! And the more you deal with book illu, the more you can appreciate it. A lot of people never even pay attention to the Illustrations, which I find just weird. There's so much fantastic artwork out there, and thousands of different styles. It's also interesting, you can see national differences... artwork where you can say at once whether it's English or American or German.

I just discovered a German illustrator who's just, gah, fantastic. Really motivating, too. I'm itching to finish this current project and do some drawings of my own, tinker around with a few new styles.
