Snow!

Aw man, I've been trying to take pictures to show off all this gorgeous white stuff we've been getting, but the lack of sunlight makes it so all my pics come out dull and grey.
Anyway, here are two...



(Cat was out there for less than a minute. She does not enjoy the snow.

I do, however. I've been skiing almost every day for a week. Sometimes twice a day. :) I honestly wouldn't mind if this weather lasted through February. Everything is much quieter, traffic noise is dampened by the snow... plus below zero temperatures means it can't rain. Two huge plusses for me.

Okay, some sun would be nice.

While I'm wishing for stuff: Ice skating in February would be awesome and the cherry on the top. *fingers crossed*

Heh, the cat's posture really somehow conveys that she's quite displeased with all this cold stuff on the ground and that she's touched it. I suppose you can't blame her as cat, coming from warm climates originally.

Heh. Yeah, understandable.

One can't help but notice she has only two paws on the ground. I think her thoughts at the time were "Yuck."

I lived there for 5 years during uni - first North of you, then South-West of you :D (assuming that pic was taken near where you live)

I am now 250 kilometers away, so too far for going climbing together :/

You read my thoughts. :) I was gonna say, we could've gone climbing together! I'm looking for an outdoor bouldering partner who lives close by.

What kind of skiing do you do??

Cross country. I would much prefer alpine, but the landscape here is flat as a pancake. Still, it's fun and at least I'm getting my daily workout in the fresh air.

I've done alpine skiing only once, for two weeks as a kid. That was among the most fun I had in my life!

Anchorage is surrounded by mountains and we have a lot of city trails and parks. People here do a lot of cross country and alpine skiing. :) I just discovered alpine skiing myself and it's a lot of fun. I tend to walk along the trails myself. I haven't picked up cross country skiing yet. But it's tempting. Though this year all the snow went down south.
