Are you F$§#*ing kidding me?!

I was super thrilled to see that my copy of the Bourne Legacy came with a digital copy, to download at the Universal website. I find digital copies much handier than DVDs so off I go, to download my complimentary copy. But when I go to their site, this is what I get:
"Sorry, but this Digital Copy title is not available in your region."

What the FUCK. I bought a region 2 DVD. Absolutely legally, at Amazon. The code was in the bloody DVD box. Why would you morons at Universal include the code for a region that isn't eligible to use it?

eta, Small print says download only from the UK. Never mind Germany and UK are in the same region. ARgh.

This is not how you discourage piracy. FU.

It seems Germany often gets the short end of the stick :/ When reading your entry, at first I suspected the GEMA :D

Argh. The movie/television industry have not gotten the hang of this whole global economy thing yet.

WTF? That is completely ridiculous. Even more so than all this region and geoblocking crap usually is.

Aren't we supposed to have a unified and free market for goods and services inside the EU anyway? I'd be much happier with the EU bureaucracy if they finally managed that for creative content. I mean, you'd still have the suck to deal with the US, but at least with the UK we ought to be able to just get the same treatment, including watching their tv and getting downloads and such.
