Is it possible that one's firewall can somehow disable one's laser printer? (Or, guess what I did all day yesterday :o/)

My printer suddenly stopped doing what it's supposed to do and what it had no problem doing until now. Checked the printer, checked the driver, un-and reinstalled the software, switched the cable, uninstalled again and installed with a USB connection this time... nothing. Connected it to my friend's computer - it prints. Whhaaaaaa.

I just thought of the firewall possibility as a last resort. I almost dare not try it out, for fear it still won't work and then I'll be completely at my wit's end.

Ah, the little things computers think of to keep our lives interesting.

Also, we got snow yesterday. *nods* Over ten inches. In Muenster that usually means traffic comes to a grinding halt. Had to take the bus to the other side of town to deliver some artwork... the only way to insure it'll be there on time ('cause with the snow and all, the postal service also comes to a grinding -- well, not quite halt, but it slows down considerably). Half of Westphalia are without electricity, apparently. This city doesn't quite know how to deal with that kind of weather.

We built a snow... thing.

It's an alien pig. I know a pig when I see one. Look at the snout on it!

The snow was fun at first, but it quickly became a nuisance. At least now the roads and most of the bikelanes are drivable again. We are lucky enough to have electricity and central heating, while most of the surrounding smaller towns have neither. I saw some impressive pictures of a line of huge felled power poles. Yikes.

Part of me misses the heat from earlier this months, but of course it's more natural this way. One just needs to adapt to the temperature drop. I think my body kind of wants to go into hibernation right now.

I'm very impressed with the eyebrows on your snow-thing. :-)
