Fall pics for real, this time.

I went on a bike tour today, and thankfully remembered to bring my camera. Now, these are the fall pictures I was going for last time, when everything was still way green!

I ended up on this little muddy road. Cycling was a hazard but the scenery was beautiful

old Westphalian manor with moat.

And this one has its own drawbridge.

This is the reason for the tour - a bridge someone mentioned on buildering-spots.de.

It's really interesting for climbing... but I dunno, not really nice enough for a 1+ hour bike ride, one way. I was totally wiped when I got home. I'm still wiped. It was all-around awesome, though. Days like this it's hard to believe that in six weeks or so we'll be welcoming winter solstice.

I mean.

This one is from two weeks ago: cranes flying south. A sight like this always makes me happy because it wasn't all that long ago that you wouldn't see a single crane.

If the area was swampy before it could perhaps also have been for drainage, like needing a ditch, but it looks better as moat.
