Featured on kidpix today: How to Find Flower Fairies with art by Cicely Mary Barker
A pop-up book so pretty, I went straight to Amazon and ordered one for myself. *

(*I want to create a pop-up book myself and books like this one are a great inspiration. I have an idea and a plot all ready to go; I'm planning to take time off to work on the concept, once my current projects are done.)

Also seen on kidpix: Scans from "The Art of How to Train Your Dragon". A lot of scans! Looks like they scanned half the book. Interesting concept art in various styles.

I can't imagine designing pop-up books. The complex folding part would totally confuse me.

I wouldn't start with something like this here, which is ridiculously complex. But you can get interesting effects with simpler folding elements. I found a great how-to book that explains the various elements (and includes examples that pop up themselves.)

That is neat. I guess there are how-to books for everything!
